Typography
The present research explores several typographical options that pair well with each other, considering and pairing the following options for the design solution of Donate a Plate: Museo, Museo Sans, Calluna and for web applications is Open Sans.
Museo is an extensive font family that is contemporary, topical, and fashionable. This font family by Jos Buivenga comprises four different styles. On the campaign pieces for this study, Museo 900 typography application is used for display purposes. Campaign pieces may also use the original Museo in combination with Museo Slab, Museo Sans, and Museo Sans Rounded.
Calluna is bumpy and assertive, with exaggerated serifs. The precise lines of this serif make it a modern alternative to other old-style types. Calluna combines the charisma of classic design with the strong appeal of modernism. Calluna is used here in pairings with Museo or Museo Sans.
Open Sans it is specially designed for legibility across print, web, and mobile interfaces. This project uses Open Sans mostly for the collateral pieces of the solution, such as web and UX design. Open Sans is excellent for any use. It is extremely readable in small sizes and works well when printed in giant letters.
Color Scheme
The stages of the discovery and creation process feature several
color palettes emerging as options for the program and campaign. The palettes of color combinations and selections are motivated
by research on color, food, and how humans perceive color.
The decision to create a fresh, bold, positive palette relatable to food reflects the influence of the meanings of colors and how those colors are perceived. It is essential to use bright and straightforward colors while at the same time choosing a palette that is appealing to the eye and represents the flavors and scents of food.
